7th March 2009: Steve Levy

"Preaching Christ from all of Scripture"

The next PreachingToday conference will be taking place on March 7th 2009. This will be our 16th conference and we will be holding this at our usual venue of Bethlehem Evangelical Church Aberavon SA12 6NE. Therefore, we are particularly pleased that Rev Steve Levy has agreed to speak to us on "Preaching Christ from all of Scripture"

Steve Levy is known to many throughout Wales and is the minister of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Swansea. Dale Ralph Davis described Steve as "having an itch for the Bible and he's itching to get the Bible into your blood. He holds that the Bible delights in Jesus - and can't wait for you to share that delight". His book "Bible Overview" is a great resource and encouragement in studying God's word.

This conference is an opportunity to share in this passion and challenge and we hope you will be able to join us on March 7th. Please encourage others to join with you as we have opportunity to study God's word.

11th November 2006: Jonathan Stephen

(Sandfields, Port Talbot)

The sessions for the 11th November are entitled:

1. The theology of preaching
2. The preaching of theology

Jonathan Stephen has completed over 27 years of pastoral ministry: first at Amyand Park Chapel in Twickenham and, since 1987, at Carey Baptist Church in Reading. During this time, Jonathan's ministry to the wider Church, both in the UK and overseas, has steadily grown through his preaching, writing and involvement in numerous projects and Christian agencies.

From 1998-2001, he served as President of the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches.

As of September 2006, Jonathan succeeded Eryl Davies as Principal of the Evangelical College of Wales.

Regarding Affinity:

With its fine pedigree, there was every reason to hope that from the outset this new offspring would be able to enjoy the respect, confidence and support of all classic evangelicals. April 15th 2006: Dr Dale Ralph Davis

Dr Davis is the pastor of Woodland Presbyterian Church (Hattiesburg, MS) and former Professor of Old Testament, Reformed Theological Seminary (Jackson, Mississippi).

The talks for the 15th are entitled:

1. "Keeping ourselves from hermeneutical idols. - The urgency of God centred interpretation"
2. "An exercise in bring it altogether - Preaching Exodus 1 and 2"

October 15th 2005: Stuart Olyott

The talks for the 15th are entitled:

1. "The Bible was given in books; How do you preach through a book?"
2. "How not to preach boring sermons"

Stuart Olyott is currently Pastoral Director for the Evangelical Movement of Wales. Previous to this he was a Lecturer at the Evangelical Theological College of Wales. He has also Pastored Churches in Liverpool and Geneva and is the author of several books, his latest being "Preaching pure and simple" and "Ministering like the Master".

June 17 and 18th 2005: Art Azurida

Art Azurdia received his Master's Degree in New Testament from Simpson College in San Francisco and a Master's Degree in Divinity from American Baptist Seminary of the West in Berkeley. He served as an Associate Pastor at Neighborhood Church in Castro Valley from 1981 to 1986. In 1987, Art and a group of families founded North Bay Bible Church in Vallejo. This was later to be renamed Christ Community Church after moving to its present location in Cordelia. Art has since earned the Doctor of Ministry Degree from Westminster Theological Seminary in Escondido. He is the author of 'Spirit Empowered Preaching' published by Christian Focus.

Art will be preaching on the evening of Friday 17th 7.30pm @ Bethlehem Evangelical Church Aberavon

Our main conference will be on Saturday 17th 10.30 - 1.pm @ Bethlehem Evangelical Church Aberavon. Art will be giving two addresses on the Spirit and the Word in preaching at this conference
